 William Hill publishes a balance of its sustainability actions during 2020

 
William Hill has presented a comprehensive report of the actions carried out during 2020 in sustainability.

William Hill stressed that despite the strong impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has adapted to ensure the protection of the business, employees and customers. In this regard, it has maintained its commitment to sustainability by working for responsible gaming, the environment and communities in general.

In its sustainability report, the company details the actions in four priority areas summarized below:

- Protection of users and promotion of a safer gaming;
  • New tools and technology, safer gambling campaigns and improvements to codes of conduct
  • Permanent work together with the BGC and other operators to establish a comprehensive set of commitments, to ensure the safety of customers.
  • More specifically: actively promoting deposit limits, increasing safer gambling messaging (over 3.5m player safety messages were sent between April and June 2020), restricting and blocking accounts where necessary, and taking action to ensure responsible advertising.
- Solid culture of empowerment and improvement to engage employees;
  • William Hill has set out to build a strong culture of empowerment and create an integrated strategy of engagement and listening to employees, with the goal of engaging them, harnessing their ideas and creativity, and listening and acting on their feedback.
  • The company highlights that the Net Promoter Score (eNPS) of the Company's employees increased by 25 points compared to the 2019 survey, which represents a very significant achievement.
- Operate with integrity;
  • As a regulated company, with gaming licenses in 13 countries, operating with integrity is a fundamental part of corporate identity
- Make a positive contribution to the community.
  • In 2020, the Group paid £ 292 million in corporate taxes and gambling rights, including £ 24 million in payroll taxes, employing some 12,000 people and £ 10 million in business fees, mainly on UK High Street.
  • It also contributed £ 85.4 million to sports through endorsements, levies and picture payments. William Hill is committed to continuing to reduce our CO2 footprint, which is down 48% since 2019. It also supported various programs and charitable activities through the William Hill Foundation.
