The end of the Coronavirus nightmare in Italy is not an illusion and according to various media outlets in the country, the Government is already considering a plan to return to normality, which although it should be done gradually, hopes it can serve to start the recovery of the economic activity in a time when many decisions will have to be made to face the challenges that will come. In any case, caution and preventive measures to avoid a re-emergence of the pandemic are key elements in this new stage.
  • End of quarantine
There is a probable scenario of ending the quarantine in Italy at the end of April, in a staggered opening in which the leisure venues would not be the priority in the resumption of their activity. In any case, it is expected that it will not be until the beginning of May when the prohibition to go outside will be lifted. Giuseppe Conte, Prime Minister of Italy, considers that the numbers of infections and deaths in recent days allow us to think about this scenario, although everything will depend on the evolution of these variables.

What is certain is that today the Italian Council of Ministers will discuss this issue at its meeting today and it is expected that a total closure will be decreed until the end of Easter, as confirmed by Roberto Speranza, Minister of Health.
  • Progressive business opening
Once the country's health crisis is over, many businesses and locals will have to meet greater demands than before the pandemic. Customers will be required to maintain the safety distance, and the tables must be separated by at least one meter. For this reason, according to the experts, the return to normality should be done gradually, because if the contagion were to resume again, a serious emergency would occur with practically irreparable damage.
  • Aspects to consider in the gaming sector
The worrying drop in GDP and the fear of a new wave of Coronavirus diagnoses in the month of May are two major concerns that the sector has shown in recent hours. Once they have assumed that the loss of turnover will not be recovered, it is clear that the opening of premises will be carried out progressively, something that will facilitate the set-up of the devices and solve aspects such as the new distribution of space because the respect for social distancing is going to be the most important preventive measure in the coming months.

Thus, it seems clear that a smaller number of clients is key to guaranteeing a total reopening of the businesses, which are possibly considered "risky", although unlike public meeting places such as universities or schools, they will be able to count on Government approval for opening before summer.

The sector is preparing for several scenarios, one of them the so-called "Israeli model" (hypothesis that seems to be in Tel Aviv), which foresees the exit of the quarantine by age groups, starting with the strongest subjects, such as the young, and then move on to the most vulnerable.
  • The big question: consumption habits
Once confirmed the reopening of the premises, the big question is to know the impact that this pandemic will have on Italians and their consumption habits. At the risk of how leisure activities and visits to facilities such as lounges, bars or clubs will be affected.
