GRECOJOC and the Plan to guarantee security measures in the re-opening
GRECOJOC works internally in order to be able to present to the Administration a plan that guarantees the security measures to resume the activity in the Game Halls as soon as possible. The goal is that users can go to these establishments with all the preventive and safety instructions issued by the health authorities.
We think that the Game Halls could reopen their doors in the initial phase of the de-escalation, once the Alarm State has been lifted, since in these establishments the capacity is very small, which allows us to strictly comply with a distance of approximately 2 meters between player and player.
This request from the Catalan Game Halls is based on the fact that there are real possibilities to carry out their activity in optimal conditions of safety and hygiene, and always complying with the guidelines given by the Administration and health authorities.
Firstly, an internal study carried out by GRECOJOC determined that the Game Halls of Catalonia, on average, have very small capacity and their establishments have a surface that allows them to maintain a distance of more than 2 meters between player and player, thus guaranteeing the social distancing.
To achieve the aforementioned, the Game Halls have an access control system that, in addition to being able to check the age of the player and if he is registered in the prohibited register, allows real-time control of the number of people who They are inside the establishment, so it is possible to deny entry to customers in the event that they exceed the capacity allowed by the Administration.
In addition, this same access control will allow customers, at the entrance of the establishment and without cost, masks, gloves and disinfectant gel, as well as adopt all the necessary measures as established by the health administrations.
This pandemic has come at the worst economic moment for the Game Halls, which just made heavy investments in adapting the establishments to the requirements of the Administration to proceed with the purchase of machinery and installation of access control.
Also, during the month of January it is usual to replace old machines with new models. This represents an important investment that, with the consequent indebtedness and the inability to generate income, has led the Game Halls to a very economically critical situation.
On the other hand, the Game Halls face another difficult situation, the vast majority are located in rental locations and it is being very difficult to negotiate with the owners. More specifically, some of them do not want to show solidarity with this situation and intend to collect 100% of the rent, and some even comment that, if payment is not made, they will evict the premises, which implies the loss of jobs, as well as administration fees.
For this reason, the Administration will be asked that once the Game Halls can be reopened, they can have a 50% discount on fees for at least 6 months.
GRECOJOC will ask the Administration to take these circumstances into account in order to proceed to reopen the Game Halls in the initial phase of de-escalation once the Alarm Status has been lifted.
