Paul Gauselman, founder and owner of the Gauselmann Group, created with his wife a charity 21 years ago, which promotes local sport.
They support many sports projects, the organization of tournaments or the purchase of equipment, which could not have been carried out without the commitment of the Gauselmann Group. The focus is primarily on promoting youth work and promoting young talent.
In addition to the many amateur clubs, the national professional sport has also received the continuous support of the Gauselmann Group for many years. For example, as the main sponsor of the second division handball team TuS N-Lübbecke or the tennis club Men 30 of the Espelkamp-Mittwald.
The very special connection to this club is the result of the long-term membership of Paul Gauselmann, who still actively plays tennis.
In addition to handball and tennis, the most popular German sport, football, also receives special funding: the football league FC Preußen Espelkamp and the Bundesliga club DSC Arminia Bielefeld have been sponsored by the company for years.
The internal sports association of the company Merkur Gauselmann e. V. ideally and economically supported by the group of companies. With around 1,000 members, it is one of the largest business sports associations in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Since 2018, the Gauselmann Group has extended its long-term commitment in the sports field beyond regional borders. Since then, the Gauselmann Group has sponsored the sports city of Düsseldorf. With MERKUR MASTERS, the GAUSELMANN Group is setting new standards in terms of sporting integrity and sustainable development of e-sports in Germany. In the two-season tournament, both amateurs and true professionals will compete for the crown of the best global offensive German counterattack team.
