The Greek government has raised the maximum limit of bets and jackpots for online gaming. The maximum bet for slots and table games goes from €2 to €20; while the jackpots increase from €70,000 to €140,000.
A year after the regulation, and a review by the Ministry of Finance, the government made the decision. In this regard, the president of the Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC), Dimitris Ntzanatos, welcomed the move, saying that the regulator supported the decision in its audit of the market in its first year.
The HGC has confirmed that gaming operators have also been permitted to reduce spin times from three to two seconds. It has also extended the window for operators to connect to its compliance central monitoring system to December 2022 and reported that some 15 operators have new Greek online gaming licenses.
