The Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA), associated with Brazil's Ministry of Treasury, issued new guidelines this Tuesday regulating the submission of technical certificates by both provisionally and definitively authorized operators. These regulations, aimed at sports betting and online gaming sectors, require operators with definitive licenses to submit monthly updates of their General Index Document and the Online Games Index Document unless there are no changes to report.
Secretary Regis Dudena, who signed the normative instruction, emphasized the importance of this move to streamline the regulatory processes and ensure transparency in the rapidly expanding betting industry. The new rules were published in Brazil's Official Gazette and are effective immediately.
Detailed Requirements Outlined:
Provisionally authorized operators are to submit, through the Betting Management System – SIGAP, detailed technical certificates covering various aspects of their operations by January 30, 2025. These include certifications for Betting System, Sports Betting Server (Sportsbook)/Remote Game Server (RGS), and Integration, reflecting comprehensive compliance and operational integrity.
The normative instruction specifies document types and naming conventions to standardize submissions, enhancing the ease of verification and compliance checks by the SPA.
This regulatory update underscores the SPA's commitment to maintaining robust oversight of Brazil's betting landscape, ensuring that all operational activities align with national standards for security and fairness.
