Emissions intensity also declined, from 32.16 tCO?e per €1M turnover in 2023 to 29.55 tCO?e in 2024.

“We’ve managed to grow as a company without increasing our climate impact. This is a sustainable path forward,” said Daniela Johansson, Deputy CEO & Chief Responsibility Officer at Paf.

Paf has followed the GHG Protocol since 2016 and has expanded its calculations to cover at least 95% of all emissions across the business.

“Our climate calculation is vital to our Net-Zero 2040 target and offers a comprehensive view of our environmental performance,” explained Ludvig Winberg, Corporate Communication Manager.

Scope 2 emissions, which include electricity and heating of offices, decreased from 48.7 to 18.04 tCO?e. This reduction is attributed to increased use of certified renewable energy and more accurate activity data, such as improved reporting from Paf’s Malta and Riga offices.

Scope 1 emissions slightly increased due to more kilometres driven by company vehicles.

The vast majority—99% of Paf’s carbon footprint—falls under Scope 3 emissions, which dropped from 5,456 to 5,356 tCO?e in 2024. This was due to better emissions data provided by key suppliers, particularly in IT hardware and marketing.

“We're working closely with our partners to refine data quality, aiming to continue reducing our environmental footprint,” added Winberg.

Paf’s Net-Zero 2040 target has been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aligned with the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5?°C.
