Ceuta is taking a decisive step forward in its digital transformation. The Autonomous City and the University of Granada (UGR) have signed a landmark agreement to create the CEUTA-IATEB Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies for Well-being, further strengthening the city’s position as a hub for innovation, investment, and technology in Southern Europe.
The agreement, signed at the Hall of the Throne by Juan Vivas, President of Ceuta, and Pedro Mercado, Rector of the UGR, will fund initiatives in education, healthcare, social services, and the economy. Led by Professor Fernando Trujillo Sáez, the new chair will also launch the “Ceuta IA” project and student scholarships.
This initiative is part of Ceuta’s long-term plan to develop a green, blue, and smart economic model, positioning the city as a technology and innovation hub and a strategic location for sectors like online gambling and digital services.
