Codere responds to the SAT auction and rules out impact on the Hipódromo de las Américas and its casinos: "It will not affect the operation"
In statements to INFOPLAY, the company comes out in response to the information published this week about the auction of shares announced by the Mexican Tax Administration Service (SAT), and specifies that the process affects only a minority part of the capital of its subsidiary ICELA, without consequences on the activity of the racetrack or the casinos it operates.
As we already reported in INFOPLAY, the Tax Administration Service (SAT) of Mexico announced the auction of shares of Impulsora de Centros de Entretenimiento de las Américas (ICELA), a subsidiary of Codere, in a process that will take place between August 11 and 18. In view of the repercussion of the news, the company has pointed out in statements to INFOPLAY: "Inaccurate information has been published in this regard".
Only 19.6% of the shares, according to Codere
The company has specified to this media: "The auction is for 19.6% of the shares that correspond to Codere's subsidiary: Impulsora de Centros de Entretenimiento de las Américas, ICELA. This will not affect the operation of the Hipódromo de las Américas or the 41 casinos that ICELA currently operates."
A stage foreseen within the commitments with the SAT
Codere frames the auction, in his statements to INFOPLAY, with the following words: "This is a stage foreseen in the processes established by the SAT to conclude various commitments of Codere."
Who is behind Codere
The company has also specified to INFOPLAY the current composition of its shareholding: "It is important to note that Codere's current shareholders are investment funds, mostly of American origin".
