RETAbet completes its retail licenses in Spain and strengthens its online expansion in Portugal

RETAbet Group has obtained the license to operate land-based betting in Castilla y León, an authorization with which the company completes its map of retail licenses in all Spanish autonomous communities.

Xabier Rodriguez-Maribona Azkunaga, CEO of RETAbet Group, stressed that this new permit culminates a regulatory process developed over years and allows the company to have coverage to operate in the face-to-face channel throughout the Spanish territory.

"Obtaining all the licenses has taken us years, but now it becomes a real competitive advantage against many of our online and retail competitors," he said.

RETAbet consolidates its omnichannel model in Spain

In addition to the regional authorisations to operate face-to-face betting, there are also licences granted by the Directorate General for the Regulation of Gambling (DGOJ) to offer sports betting and online casino in Spain.

This combination of face-to-face and digital activity allows RETAbet to consolidate itself as a fully omnichannel operator, with the capacity to develop its offer through both channels and adapt it to the characteristics of each market.

The regulatory coverage achieved is, according to Rodriguez-Maribona, an advantage over other competitors that concentrate their activity exclusively on online business or retail.

Portugal's license expands Iberian strategy

The group has also recently strengthened its presence in Portugal by obtaining a license from the Serviço de Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos (SRIJ) to operate sports betting and online casino.

The Portuguese authorization expands RETAbet's digital reach and allows the company to transfer its growth strategy to the two main markets of the Iberian Peninsula.

In this way, RETAbet Group combines complete coverage of the Spanish land-based market, online betting and casino licenses in Spain and authorization to develop both digital activities in Portugal.
