CIRSA does not plan to make staff cuts as a result of its absorption by Lottomatica. The company will maintain its approximately 16,000 jobs, including the 4,500 jobs it concentrates in Spain, as confirmed by sources from the group to El Periódico.
The commitment especially reaches Catalonia, where the multinational gaming company has around 2,100 workers. The integration into the Italian group will not, therefore, mean a reduction in employment directly linked to the corporate operation announced on September 2.
CIRSA will also retain its headquarters in Terrassa, Barcelona, which will become the second corporate headquarters of the resulting group. The main headquarters will be located in Rome, where Lottomatica is currently domiciled.
The company chaired by Antonio Hostench plans to maintain its operational autonomy after completing the integration. CIRSA would continue to manage a large part of its activities in Spain and Latin America from Terrassa within the new international structure.
This continuity represents one of the most relevant aspects of an operation that will change the ownership and stock market structure of the group, but which, according to the explanations provided by CIRSA, will not alter its labor and corporate implementation in Catalonia.
As a result of the takeover, CIRSA's shares will no longer be traded on the Spanish stock exchanges and shareholders will receive shares of the resulting group, which will be listed on the Milan Stock Exchange.
After the operation was announced, CIRSA shares accumulated a rise of close to 17%, while Lottomatica initially reacted with declines in the Italian market.
