Castilla-La Mancha brings together regulators, federations and the National Police in Albacete to combat the rigging of sports competitions
The Integrity Day is held in Albacete under the slogan "Without integrity there is no game".
Albacete will host this Wednesday, September 30 , the Integrity Day against the Fixing of Sports Events, an event organized by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha under the slogan "Without integrity there is no game". The day will bring together those responsible for the regulation of gambling, competitions, federations, clubs and specialized police forces.
The meeting has the collaboration of the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and Agenda 2030, the National Police, LALIGA and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). The programme will take place between 09:30 and 14:00 and is divided into three discussion tables. Each one addresses a phase of the problem: the regulatory framework, the identification of risks and the prevention and investigation tools.
Institutional inauguration
After the reception of attendees and authorities, scheduled between 09:30 and 10:00 hours, the opening ceremony will be carried out by Mikel Arana, general director of Gambling Regulation of the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030. He will be accompanied by Susana Pastor Pons, general director of Taxes and Gambling Regulation of the Ministry of Finance, Public Administrations and Digital Transformation of Castilla-La Mancha.
First table: Culture of Fair Play. National Regulations
From 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the first table will be moderated by Cecilia Pastor, Deputy Director General of Gambling Inspection of the Directorate General for the Regulation of Gambling (DGOJ). Iñaki Arbea, Deputy Director of Integrity of LALIGA, and Cristina Díaz, Head of Integrity of the Legal Department of the RFEF, will take part. The table is completed by María José López, Political-Institutional-Legal Director of the Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE), and Eugenio Álvarez, Deputy Director General of Gambling Regulation of the DGOJ.
After this first session, the program includes a coffee break between 11:30 and 12:00 hours.
Second table: Risk Identification
The second table, from 12:00 to 13:00 hours, will move the debate to the regional level and to other disciplines beyond professional football. It will be moderated by Carlos Alberto Yuste, general director of Youth and Sports of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha.
Fernando Corral, general director of the ASOBAL League, and José María Rodríguez, technical director of the Volleyball Federation of Castilla-La Mancha, will participate. Rafael Ortega, president of the Albacete Basketball Club, and Julio Javier Solera, manager of the Football Federation of Castilla-La Mancha, will also participate.
Third table: Prevention and Research Tools. Warning Signs
The last table, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., will focus on the operational and police aspect. It will be moderated by David Calvete, chief inspector and head of the Central Gambling Control Service.
Cecilia Pastor, representing the DGOJ, and Óscar Pérez and Mónica Alba, group leaders of the National Police Center for Integrity in Sport and Betting (CENPIDA), will participate as speakers.
The day will conclude at 2:00 p.m . with the closing ceremony and a farewell cocktail.
