Inspired estimates $3 million impact following Brazil's ban on online betting and gambling
The company recognizes that Brazil had become a relevant market for its digital business and will revise its 2026 forecasts after the regulatory change.
Inspired Entertainment has put figures on the impact that the recent ban on fixed-odds betting and online gaming will have in Brazil: the company estimates that its revenue for the fourth quarter of 2026 could be reduced by approximately 3 million dollars if the market closure is maintained until the end of the year.
The reaction comes after the Brazilian government approved Provisional Measure 1.394/2026, which prohibits the exploitation, offer, intermediation and advertising of fixed-odds betting, both sports and online games, throughout the country. The rule is already in force and establishes a transition period for the closure of authorized operations.
Inspired recognizes that Brazil had become an important market for its digital business and anticipates that practically all the turnover it currently generates in the country will be affected as long as the ban remains in force.
The president and CEO of Inspired Entertainment, Brooks Pierce, has expressed the company's disappointment after the heavy investment made by the industry to develop a regulated market, although he has confirmed that Inspired will comply with the new requirements and is already working with its client operators to adapt the activity.
The situation, however, remains open. The measure must be analyzed by the Brazilian Congress within a maximum period of 120 days, while different industry participants study possible legal appeals. Federal
Inspired has chosen not to incorporate a possible revocation of the ban into its guidance and will update its 2026 annual guidance when it reports third-quarter results.
