The group of William Hill and 888 is suffering from the closure of establishments and favorable sports results for customers.
Evoke has recorded unaudited revenue of £406 million in the third quarter of 2026, down 7% from the same period last year. The update covers the three months ended September 30 and does not provide specific figures for Spain, where the group operates William Hill and 888.
The decrease is limited to 2% in comparable terms and at constant exchange rates, a measure that excludes the effect of having approximately 270 fewer establishments compared to the previous year.
The company also notes that particularly favourable sporting results for customers at the start of the football season subtracted between one and two percentage points from the year-on-year revenue growth of the group as a whole.
After adjusting both the perimeter of establishments and currencies as well as the effect of sports margins, evoke considers that revenues remained practically stable. This normalized evolution is an adjusted measure of the company and does not replace the 7% drop reported in reported terms.
Spain continues to be among the priority markets of the international online business, but the statement does not allow its quarterly evolution or its contribution to the group's revenues to be determined. Nor does it include quarterly EBITDA or profit figures.
Per Widerström, CEO of evoke, defended the resilience of the business and highlighted the priority given to profitability and cash generation after the increases in gambling taxation, especially in the United Kingdom.
The executive has linked the closure of establishments with this tax pressure and has called for caution in the face of possible new increases in the next British budget in the autumn.
"The closure of 270 establishments during the last year shows the real impact on jobs and livelihoods of higher taxation on the sector," he said.
