Matt Maddox (CEO of Wynn Resorts): "we could be in a position to be reopening at the end of May"
This week, Matt Maddox, CEO of Wynn Resorts, announced to his employees that casinos located on the most famous street in Las Vegas could reopen by the end of May.
The possibility of reopening the Las Vegas Strip casinos will depend on the points of reference established by the state of Nevada, which track the growth of the disease, hospital capacity and testing capacity.
In this regard, Matt Maddox said: “Depending on how the state does with benchmarks, we could be in a position to be reopening at the end of May. And, he added: "While I can’t guarantee that we’re going to be opening at the end of May, it is really dependent on the science and the data coming out. We are preparing for that eventuality."
On the other hand, the CEO of Wynn Resorts explained that they will continue to pay the salaries of their employees until the end of May, which means roughly a quarter of a billion dollars in payroll.
