Portuguese casinos are expected to resume their activities on June 5.
For their part, the gaming halls have implemented a set of measures to guarantee the social distance and hygiene of the spaces, following a specification under the strict observance of Tourism of Portugal with the aim of granting the Clean & Safe seal.
At the next meeting of the Council of Ministers (May 28), the reopening of this activity must be approved, the date for restarting the operation must be announced and the molds for the deconfiguration must be announced, that is, if there will be limits on capacity.
According to the Secretary of State for Tourism, there are six of the eleven casinos in Portugal that have already received the Clean & Safe seal, that is, they have adopted a set of practices and procedures of a sanitary and hygienic nature that comply with the guidelines of the Directorate General.
In the first accumulated quarter, the gaming halls presented a global income of 61.1 million euros, a decrease of 17.5% compared to the 74.1 million generated in the same period of 2019.
