The Cipriani Ocean Resort & Club Residences project, of the Cipriani group, recently obtained the concession to operate a private casino in Punta del Este, Uruguay. In this regard, representatives of the government and the investment group met on December 4 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Tourism to sign the award.
The Cipriani group plans an investment of 450 million dollars and generate 800 jobs. The works will begin in the second half of 2021 with the construction of the casino, 70 hotel rooms and 75 private apartments.
In addition, this ambitious project will have spa services, hairdresser, sports areas, 24-hour room service, business spaces, a large party room, spectacular gardens, valet parking, cleaning service, commercial premises, convention center, theater, nursery, butler services, as well as the renowned Cipriani restaurants, among other luxurious services.
Regarding this complex, Azucena Arbeleche, Minister of Economy and Finance, highlighted the importance of this large investment project for the generation of employment and the promotion of economic activities after the crisis caused by COVID-19.
On the other hand, Germán Cardoso, Minister of Tourism, highlighted the legal, economic and political stability of the country to host this type of works and explained that maximum efforts were made to streamline the necessary processes, and thus be able to advance in this project that was pending.
For his part, Giuseppe Cipriani, owner of the company that obtained the concession, expressed his joy at this achievement after two years of great work and hopes to start construction as soon as possible.
