ESPN, a subscription channel specializing in sports and operated by The Walt Disney Company, could reach the growing US sports betting market. Given the rumors of licensing and acquisitions agreements Bob Chapek, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, has stated that ESPN is "beginning to take some very important steps in that way" and left open the possibility to partnerships.
Bob Chapek explained that, although there is a long way to go, the company is very interested in sports betting because they are aware that their followers are very involved in them and said: “Strategically, sports betting gives us the ability to appeal to a much younger sports fan who has a very strong affinity for those sports”.
Specialized media and analyst firms link ESPN linked to Rush Street Interactive as a potential sports bets partner.
