BGC launches campaign to promote responsible gaming: "TAKE TIME TO THINK" (Video)

BGC has explained through a press release that it is confident that this new campaign will encourage users to pause and consider the safer gaming tools offered by operators to help them moderate their game and stay in control.

It should be noted that BGC has worked with broadcasters and online platforms to deliver the multi-million-pound campaign, which has been funded by BGC members William Hill, Entain, bet365, Gamesys, Flutter, Betvictor, Betway, Kindred, Playtech, Betfred, PlayOjo, Betsson and Microgaming.

"TAKE TIME TO THINK" includes a series of television commercials showing customers pausing in the middle of the game before considering whether to use safer game tools. In addition, operators will also adopt the message "Take the time to think" in their retail and online businesses.

At least 20% of their TV and radio advertisements are safer gambling messages, while it is estimated that around two million customers, around one in five, already use deposit limits.

On launching the campaign, Conor Grant, CEO of Flutter UK, and Ireland, said: "Together with the wider industry, we are pleased to support the BGC's Take Time to Think campaign, which aims to positively impact awareness and usage of the range of safer gambling tools available to customers".

On the other hand, Grainne Hurst, director of corporate affairs at Entain, defines Take Time to Think as "an important initiative, which encourages customers to take full advantage of the safer gambling tools that are available to manage their gaming".

Meanwhile, Mark Pearson, director of corporate affairs at Betfred, commented: "It is essential that the industry present a consistent message, and everyone works together to promote safer gambling."

Michael Dugher, CEO of BGC, underscored: “Our research has shown that the ‘Take Time to Think ’message will encourage even more customers to pause and consider whether to make use of the wide range of safer gambling tools that are available. That will enable them to stay in control of their betting”.
