Holland Casino Venlo opened in style last Thursday, July 7, with the attendance of personalities from the region, a selection of snacks and drinks from its restaurants, as well as performances by artists.
According to an official statement from Holland Casino, the party was attended by Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Economic Affairs Erwin Boom and performances by artists such as Edsilia Rombley and Charly Luske and illusionist Victor Mids.
During the opening ceremony, the operations manager, Noël Leise, spoke about the unique construction of the newest branch of Holland Casino, which has a total area of 10,584 m2, where there are more than 550 slot machines and 45 gaming tables. .
“Holland Casino Venlo is the most sustainable casino in Europe and is built according to the cradle-to-cradle principle, without making any concessions to the guest experience, charm and appearance of the building. We collect rainwater for our greywater system and there are no fewer than 7,000 LED lamps outside the casino,” he noted.
Regarding the design, Noël Leise added: “We started from the inside. What do guests want and how do they walk through a casino? The unique and innovative casino was designed by a Las Vegas interior architect who was inspired by the Dutch floral landscape. We have tendered the construction locally and regionally. It is a true landmark in a privileged location where guests lack nothing. Others see it too: Holland Casino Venlo was nominated in April 2022 as the best casino in Europe. We finished second, after the Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco. We are very proud of that."
We must remember that Holland Casino opened in July 2021, but there was no traditional grand opening due to COVID-19 measures. Construction of the new location began in November 2018 and 40% of the expected 600,000 annual visitors come from Germany.
