One of the most well-known Hispanic NFT projects celebrated its first poker event at Casino Unnic Andorra this past weekend. We explain the latest synergy between blockchain technology and gaming, in the form of a Texas Hold'em tournament that aims to attract both poker players and holders of the Mr Crypto token.
More than interesting and worth following is the poker event held on Saturday, July 1st at Casino Unnic in Andorra. It represents the first major event that combines the intersection of blockchain technology (in this case an NFT) and live poker. This synergy offers a multitude of opportunities for operators, players, customers, and, of course, physical establishments like casinos.
What is Mr. Crypto?
Mr. Crypto (MRC for its token) is the name of the NFT created by a well-known youth clothing brand (Racksmafia) and a company that develops applications based on technology applied to smart contracts (Rackslabs).
It is a non-fungible token (NFT) created within the Polygon network for Ethereum. Unlike being a speculative product like most NFT projects, being associated with the target audience that consumes the Racks clothing brand aims to bring value to the user and be capable of generating exclusive experiences for the community, with great relevance among influencers and personalities in the crypto world.
Access to exclusive products is achieved through the possession of the NFT, which serves as the only form of access for these products, as is the case with this poker event we are going to talk about, although in the tournament, the registration fee must be paid due to the nature of this poker modality where the prize pool distributed among the top players comes from the buy-ins paid by all participants.
A much expected synergy
In today's interconnected world, technological advancements are constantly reshaping existing industries. One of the most notable examples is how blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies are revolutionizing the gambling sector.
Although we usually hear about synergies related to online poker, companies and blockchain experts are leveraging the excitement for poker in establishments like Casino Unnic Andorra to offer their customers and followers a live gaming experience in the form of a poker tournament.
In highlighting the importance of this tournament, we emphasize the following points:
- The first poker event organized by a Hispanic NFT Project
The event was organized by one of the most well-known Hispanic projects in the realm of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). This project has gained recognition for its innovation in the digital space and its impact on the community.
Thus, the poker players' community and NFT enthusiasts came together to enjoy an unforgettable experience with attractive prizes, thanks to the nearly €18,000 prize pool and additional prizes awarded by the organization.
- Attraction for poker players
The tournament was not only an event for Mr. Crypto token holders but also attracted experienced poker players. It was a unique opportunity to compete and showcase their skills in a competitive and fun environment.
- Payment in cryptocurrencies
To participate in the andorra.mrcyptonft.com tournament, payments were accepted in both crypto and fiat (crypto payments only for token holders), as it was a private tournament where registration could be done online, even using Ethereum wallets.
- Respect for the nature of a poker event
In addition to the tournament itself, there were live qualifiers and online satellites that granted access to the Casino UNNIC Andorra event. Announcements were made on Discord, the platform where Mr. Crypto token holders are informed about events of all kinds. There was also a Masterclass at Casino Unnic conducted by an experienced player and crypto-savvy individual who is also a holder of the NFT, EddieRivers. It took place one month before the event at the casino, on May 27th.
Andorra, the perfect location
For this intersection between poker and the Mr. Crypto project, Casino Andorra provided its poker room to host the poker tournament. Additionally, the "Country of the Pyrenees" became the perfect location for the intense program of activities planned for the weekend.
Moreover, key members of the organization and the Mr. Crypto Poker Club are residents of Andorra, as well as the influencer who served as an ambassador for the event on social media and participated in the poker tournament, Víctor Domínguez, known on social media as WallStreetWolverine.
Wall Street Wolverine rose to fame as one of the Spanish 'YouTubers' who have established their residence in Andorra
Andorra fits perfectly with the profile of the company and an event of this nature with experiences such as adventure sports, nightlife, and sports cars. The full program (of which the poker tournament was only a small part) of the event was as follows:
Day 1 (June 30)
- From 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm Cocktail and Networking
Day 2 (July 1)
- Holders' Lunch
- From 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm Onboarding to community / Delivery of the welcome kit to Hodlers / Tournament credentials at Casino Andorra
- At 4:00 pm Start of the poker tournament
- From 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm Break and food at the sports bar (Separate expense)
- At 11:00 pm Opening of the nightclub
- At 3:00 am End of the event at the casino
Day 3 (July 2)
- From 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Brunch
- From 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm Car Expo and sponsors
- At 5:30 pm Getaway to France with sports cars

Tournament with 87 players
In addition to the aforementioned Víctor Domínguez, known on social media as WallStreetWolverine, there were almost 90 participants who started the 200€ buy-in tournament that began on Saturday at 5:00 pm. The tables and the casino were full of players and members of this young community interested in investments and the crypto world.
In the early stages of the tournament, it was clear that there were many beginner players in the world of poker, although the 10,000 initial chips and good structure allowed some of them to get to the dinner break with options to enter one of the 12 positions that would be awarded prizes.
It was around 22:00 pm when the most relevant levels began to be contested to see who made it to the final table of 9 players.
With the elimination of the fifth place (€1013 prize), a deal was reached among the last 4 survivors who more equitably divided the remaining €10,000 of the prize pool, so even though it was expected that the winner would take €4,000, the top four finishers took more or less €2,500 in prizes.
At 3:00 am, the tournament ended with the award ceremony and the obligatory photos, while the action moved to the casino nightclub.
So while we are still waiting for suitable legislation and environment for the adoption of cryptocurrencies in online gaming operators, with more and more players becoming familiar and possessing cryptocurrencies (which would lead to their use for deposits and withdrawals), the appearance of poker events created by companies like Mr Crypto helps to continue building an anticipated transformation of gaming through the many practical applications of blockchain technology.
