Ceuta's Minister of Finance, Economic Transition, and Digital Transformation, Kissy Chandiramani, has outlined her ambitious agenda for 2025, focusing on innovation, artificial intelligence (AI), and strengthening the online gaming sector.

Chandiramani announced that Ceuta will become a patron of the University of Granada (UGR) Foundation for Artificial Intelligence, a strategic move to establish the city as a technological hub. "The University of Granada is a pioneer in AI in Europe, and we must take advantage of this opportunity to develop innovative projects that benefit our economy," she explained.

The proposal will be presented at the plenary session in January 2025 and aims to attract investments and promote collaboration with researchers and technology companies.

The Minister highlighted the role of Ceuta's Economic and Fiscal Regime (REF) as a competitive advantage for boosting the online gaming sector. "We will continue to focus on technological and commercial services through the internet, consolidating the city's digital economic model," Chandiramani stated.

This strategy has enabled job creation, office leasing, and infrastructure development at record speed, turning Ceuta into an attractive hub for tech companies.

Regarding the 2025 budget, Chandiramani emphasized its focus on education, urban services, and social policies. She underscored the commitment to increasing allocations for scholarships, school aid, and free textbooks while improving essential services such as cleaning and waste transportation.

Additionally, partnerships with organizations like Cáritas and the Food Bank will be reinforced to support vulnerable groups. "Our goal is to ensure that no Ceuta resident is left behind," she stressed.

Chandiramani concluded her address by reaffirming her vision of transforming Ceuta into a smart, technology-driven city. "We want to leave a legacy of innovation and prosperity that drives economic growth and improves the quality of life for our citizens," she concluded.
