Asensi and Vall present award to Flutter Foundation at Teatro Real as Esther Martín-Ortega accepts Institution of the Year honour

The Flutter Foundation was honoured as Institution of the Year at the 7th International Responsible Gaming and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards, held on June 19 at a gala event at Madrid’s Teatro Real.

The award was presented by Pepe Vall, President of Grupo Valisa, and Santiago Asensi, Managing Partner at Asensi Abogados, to Esther Martín-Ortega, Head of Public Affairs and Sustainability for Spain and Other Countries at Flutter International, who accepted the award on behalf of the Foundation.

Impact in Ceuta and a long-term vision

The jury selected the Flutter Foundation for its tangible social impact in Ceuta and its commitment to inclusion, sustainability, and improving the quality of life for vulnerable groups. Established in May 2024 by Flutter Entertainment, the Foundation has rapidly become a key player in the field of corporate citizenship in Spain.

Among the most valued initiatives:

• The STEM Scholarship Program, developed in collaboration with the University of Granada (Ceuta Campus) and the local Department of Education, supporting more than 200 students (53% women) from underprivileged backgrounds to pursue science and technology studies, with a strong focus on gender equality.
• A separate program offering university and vocational training scholarships for young people from low-income families.
• The launch of a pioneering oncology nutrition service in partnership with AECC Ceuta, which has significantly improved the physical and emotional well-being of local cancer patients.
• A donation to the Ceuta Food Bank to complete a new logistics warehouse, which will increase distribution capacity by 25% and serve more than 1,200 families per month.
• The “Flutter x el Deporte” program, which provides direct support to inclusive, grassroots and adaptive sports initiatives, promoting social inclusion and equality through sport.

A CSR model aligned with Flutter's global strategy

The jury also praised the Foundation’s long-term vision, aligned with Flutter Entertainment’s Positive Impact Plan, which aims to positively impact 10 million people worldwide by 2030.

This recognition further solidifies the Flutter Foundation’s position as a benchmark for corporate social responsibility, demonstrating that the gaming sector can make a real and measurable contribution to community well-being through concrete, sustained action.
