Austrian gaming technology leader NOVOMATIC today announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Vikings Casinos, following thorough approval by all relevant French licensing and regulatory bodies. The deal significantly strengthens NOVOMATIC’s footprint in one of Europe’s premier gaming markets and underlines its long-term commitment to sustainable growth and international diversification.
Founded in Falaise in 1998, Vikings Casinos employs over 300 staff and operates approximately 1,000 gaming terminals across more than 10 land-based casinos, including prime venues on the French Riviera. The acquisition broadens NOVOMATIC’s service portfolio in France’s dynamic gaming landscape and provides a strong platform for future expansion.
“Acquiring Vikings Casinos is a key milestone in our strategic build-up of NOVOMATIC’s international presence. France represents one of the most dynamic and challenging gaming markets in Europe. With this investment, we not only reinforce our European leadership but also signal our unwavering commitment to a long-term global growth strategy,” said Stefan Krenn, Executive Board Member of NOVOMATIC AG.
Regulatory approval in France not only reflects confidence in NOVOMATIC’s expertise and reliability but also paves the way for joint development initiatives—new casino openings, product innovations, and technology modernization—under one of the world’s leading gaming technology groups.
