The gaming company from the Åland Islands, Paf, closes the 2025 financial year registering the highest turnover in its 59-year history after reaching 214.5 million euros. The unstoppable growth of its digital division, led by the Spanish market, and the tightening of its responsible gambling policies mark a record year for the organization.
The gaming operator from Åland, PAF, has closed the year 2025 consolidating the strongest financial year in its 59-year history. According to the organization's latest annual report, the Group's global revenues escalated to a record 214.5 million euros, representing a 12% increase compared to the previous year. For its part, the company's net profit experienced a 5% rebound, standing at 57.2 million euros.
Online gaming growth and success in the Spanish market
The online gaming segment emerged once again as the operator's primary revenue driver, contributing a record 191.9 million euros to the total revenues. The active digital customer base also reached an all-time high of 765,887 accounts, up 12% from the previous year. This growth in the digital sector was notably driven by the excellent performance of the brand in the Spanish market, which has consolidated itself as one of the key regions for the company's international expansion.
Regarding the physical casino and vessel division (Land & Ship), which generated 22.5 million euros, the year was marked by a key operational transformation. PAF completed the total removal of coins from its gaming machines aboard cruise ships, achieving a complete transition toward a digitized and 100% cashless gaming system.
Responsible gambling strategy and environmental sustainability
True to its policy of prioritizing sustainable revenues over quick profit, PAF implemented even more restrictive measures in its responsible gambling and gambling addiction prevention policies during the year. The company reduced the maximum annual loss limits to 16,000 euros for users over 24 years old, and to 6,000 euros for young people between 20 and 24 years old. Furthermore, looking ahead to the beginning of 2026, the organization has adjusted the limit downward again for the first group, setting it at 15,000 euros.
On the environmental front, the operator cut its climate footprint by 14.2% compared to the previous period, decreasing its emissions to 4,638 tons of CO2 equivalent. This progress keeps the company aligned with its sustainability targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to achieve Net-Zero emissions by the year 2040.
Corporate culture and new gambling regulation
The firm, which has a workforce of 295 employees from 31 nationalities and has been recognized as one of the most inspiring workplaces in Finland, directly involved its team in internal social management. Through a vote, the workers allocated 150,000 euros of corporate funds to various charitable causes of their choice. In the educational field, its programming academy grit:lab continued to expand after being internationally distinguished as an Apple Distinguished School.
With its sights set on the medium term, PAF has already begun to prepare strategically and technically for the transition toward the new gaming licensing system in mainland Finland, whose entry into force is scheduled for the summer of 2027.
