Minister for Justice, Trade and Industry, Nigel Feetham KC MP has welcomed the decision by Casino Admiral Gibraltar in association with Apex pro gaming to make a strategic investment in Gibraltar in respect of a new games development studio (Rocktec Ltd).
Rocktec Ltd will provide local employment opportunities in games development, but particularly in the areas of digital art and animation, software engineering, project management and operations and generative AI. Initially this will be in-house group development, but with ambitious plans for expansion.
Rocktec Ltd will shortly be making its own public announcement about the careers it has on offer and its commitment to Gibraltar. It has chosen Gibraltar as its innovation hub following discussions with the Government and the establishment of a shared vision around the future of technology, AI and education/research in this area.
Casino Admiral Gibraltar is already well established in Gibraltar as part of the leisure and tourism offering and provides a significant number of jobs. This is a step change in terms of the creation of highly skilled tech roles and represent significant inwards investment and confidence in the jurisdiction.
In welcoming this decision, Minister Feetham said:

Initiatives like this strengthen our economy, support talent development and reinforce Gibraltar’s reputation as a tier one gaming hub and forward-looking international business centre."
