Interblock Unifies Global Operations and EMEA Under One Command with the Arrival of Marco Balliano

Interblock has appointed Marco Balliano as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and President for the EMEA region, effective September 1, 2026. With this addition, the company brings together the areas of manufacturing planning, quality, procurement and service operations under a single head.

According to the company, the objective of this structure is to offer operators predictable delivery times, agile support of parts and service, and consistent quality in each unit and in each market.

"Our products have always won on the pitch, and our customers tell us that the experience around them matters as much as they do: lead times, parts, service response," said Kay Oswald, CEO of Interblock. " We want that experience to be as strong as the product itself. Marco joins us to help bring that standard to every part of what we do, and we're thrilled to have him with us."

As President of EMEA, Balliano will lead the region from the commercial point of view from Interblock's headquarters in Mengeš, Slovenia, putting a senior decision-maker in the same time zone as European operators. In addition, he will devote a significant portion of his time to the Americas and Asia-Pacific regions, and will be in Las Vegas from September 22 to attend G2E.

Balliano joins Haier Europe Group, where he served as Managing Director of the Food Preparation and Built-in business unit, leading a five-year strategic plan and the acquisition and integration of Elba. Previously, he held senior management and marketing positions at Candy Group and Whirlpool Europe, companies focused on high-volume manufacturing, multi-country service networks and large-scale quality systems.

The new executive holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Bocconi University and has completed executive programs at INSEAD and the University of Michigan.
