Mira Mircheva steps down as financial director of Bally's and George Papanier takes over on an interim basis
The company has begun the search for a permanent chief financial officer. Mircheva is stepping down for personal reasons, although she will remain at Bally's until Sept. 30 to ease the transition.
Bally's Corporation has announced a change in its management team following Mira Mircheva's decision to step down as the company's executive vice president and chief financial officer.
The resignation became effective on September 4, 2026, although Mircheva will continue to be linked to Bally's until September 30 with the aim of ensuring an orderly and uninterrupted transition in financial management.
To fill the position during this period, the Board of Directors has appointed George Papanier, current president of Bally's and a member of its Board, as interim chief financial officer. Papanier will retain both responsibilities while the company undergoes the process of finding a permanent successor.
George Papanier has more than 40 years of experience in the industry and has an extensive background in finance and operations. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has been leading Bally's land-based casino operations since October 2021.
He previously served as the company's President and CEO from February 2011 to October 2021. He joined Bally's in 2004 as Chief Operating Officer and has previously served as Chief Financial Officer in 2023.
Bally's Corporation CEO Robeson Reeves thanked Mira Mircheva for her dedication to the company and highlighted Papanier's ability to take on this responsibility again.
"After more than two decades in key operational and financial leadership positions at Bally's, George has been instrumental in the development of our business model, asset portfolio and growth strategy," said Reeves.
The top executive also expressed his confidence that the experience of the financial team will allow the processes of information, internal control and relationship with the capital markets to be maintained without alterations.
