Grupo Díaz Carbajosa, with Herdicasa, returns to race for a good cause
Grupo Díaz Carbajosa, through Herdicasa, launches Corazones en Marcha, a new edition of its solidarity challenge for employees that combines physical exercise with fundraising for children and adolescents with congenital heart disease.
The initiative has the collaboration of APACI and was born with a very specific purpose: to raise funds to support families who spend time at the La Paz Hospital in Madrid while their children receive care, undergo tests or face an intervention derived from a previous diagnosis of congenital heart disease.
Participation in this year's project is very simple: it is enough to record the kilometers traveled during the six weeks of the challenge using a specific app, so that employees accumulate milestones that the company then transforms into funds for the association.
Rubén García, from Herdicasa, explained that this project started in 2007 with its first edition and has been taking shape and maturing over the years. According to García, it is not just about adding kilometres, but about the motivation of knowing that this walk after work, or that weekend route, is helping to pay for the travel and stay of parents who have to travel to a reference hospital for their child's heart surgery.
