GVC and 888 strengthen their position on the London Stock Exchange
FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 are the benchmark stock indexes of the London Stock Exchange, being -respectively- made up of the 100 companies with the largest market capitalization in the United Kingdom and especially the first (FTSE 100) has become the indicator of the financial performance of British companies as in Spain with the IBEX-35. This week GVC Holdings has been re-admitted to the FTSE 100 while 888 Holdings enters for first time in the FTSE 250.
Two of the gambling companies listed on the London Stock Exchange take two steps forward in listing their shares on the most relevant european Stock Exchange. Firstly, GVC Holdings, owner of Ladbrokes Coral, bwin or PartyCasino has been readmitted to the FTSE 100 index, while 888 Holdings has entered the FTSE 250 index.
Both operators will now have to submit more comprehensive quarterly reviews and will become representatives of the gaming sector when it comes to reflecting the situation of the game compared to other sectors represented in the index.
Although the financial situation of both companies has suffered the consequences of Covid-19, their listing on the Stock Exchange has remained at the values ??of before the pandemic: in the first quarter of 2020, GVC experienced a 1% increase in revenues from gaming, while online gaming revenue increased 19%. For its part, at full year-over-year 2019, 888 saw revenue increase 6% year-over-year, to a group record of $ 560.3 million. The company's B2C casino revenue increased 13% to $ 359.3 million, while B2C sports revenue increased 12% to $ 90 million.
