On April 21, the State Parliament of Saxony-Anhalt, one of the 16 federal states of Germany, ratified the State Gaming Treaty of 2021 that will allow online bets and slots in Germany from July 1.

Georg Stecker, spokesman for the board of directors of the German Automatenwirtschaft eV (DAW), has referred to the State Gaming Treaty of 2021 and said:
“The new state treaty on gaming heralds a turning point in gaming regulation. We particularly welcome the fact that quality criteria are being applied for the first time in the regulation of commercial machine games. Now it is important that the federal states really trust the quality of the gaming halls by implementing the state treaty and seizing the opportunity to separate the wheat from the chaff. "
"Only with a sufficient and high-quality supply is it possible to direct the human instinct to play in an orderly manner, and the channelling mandate of the State Gaming Treaty can be fulfilled."
Considering all the above, Stecker demands:
"We need a powerful gaming authority that controls new offerings quickly and efficiently."
As we have explained in previous posts, the ratification of the State Gaming Treaty of 2021 establishes that sports betting will only be allowed for companies that have received a license from the Darmstadt Regional Council, for which they have already submitted an application 30 companies, an amount that will surely increase soon.
When it comes to sports betting, they will have new rules. Live betting will be limited to a certain extent, in particular the way bets are placed on results and upcoming scorers.
In addition to poker and sports betting, most other online casino games will also be fully allowed, including popular slots that will now have very strict rules.
In this regard, the maximum bet per spin will be capped at € 1, along with a mandatory deposit limit of € 1000. Also, slots must be advertised and offered separately from all other table games and cannot be advertised between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM.
