Wynn Resorts has reported in a press release that the change will take effect on February 1st. In addition, Maddox will remain on the boards of the subsidiaries Wynn Macau and Wynn Interactive until the end of 2022.

It should be noted that Billings became CFO of Wynn Resorts in March 2017. He also led the company's online and sports betting initiative. He previously worked at Goldman Sachs, where he focused on the casino industry, and held executive positions at Aristocrat Leisure, NYX Gaming Group and International Game Technology (IGT).

Referring to his appointment, Billings commented: "Having worked so closely with Matt and the Board, I appreciate the confidence they have placed in me and look forward to building upon the legacy of excellence we’ve established. "

On the other hand, Maddox has worked at Wynn for 20 years and has endorsed the decision to have Billings take over, saying, “I am grateful to the Board for their faith in me and the support and insight they have offered me as CEO. I am very pleased with the Board’s decision and know I am leaving Wynn Resorts in great hands with Craig, as well as the entire management team”.
