At the request of Ksa, various providers shared information regarding the identification and analysis of certain matches involving amateur teams, on which they offered bets. According to Ksa, the identification and analysis process requires substantial improvement. Therefore, guidance is being provided to current online sports betting providers on how to enhance their identification and analysis procedures.

Research Findings:

Based on the received information, Ksa deduced that providers handle their obligations to prevent match-fixing in various ways. In many cases, they fully or partially outsource the identification and analysis of TOTO KNVB Beker matches. The analysis is also conducted in different manners, with some online gambling providers providing comprehensive justifications, while others limit certain analyses to a single sentence. Ksa also concluded that not every provider takes measures when there is an increased risk of manipulation, and the reasons for this were not always clear or complete.

The result of Ksa's investigation is a guidance letter addressed to current online sports betting providers. The letter explains how providers should approach the identification and analysis process. Soon, Ksa will also publish this explanation on its website, further minimizing the risk of match-fixing.

Matchfixing Reporting Center:

Match-fixing occurs when the outcome of a sports event is fully or partially determined by a participant (player, coach, or referee) intentionally losing or cheating. This can lead to issues such as bribery, fraud, tax evasion, and money laundering.
