The Group of Copenhagen has published its 2022-2023 activity report, highlighting encouraging results in the fight against the manipulation of sport competitions.
Numerous working groups have been set up to improve the national platforms (UP NPs), the processing of alerts, the monitoring of major competitions and relations with other organizations.
Projects with external partners have been initiated, in particular the Football Local Alerts Global Strategy (FLAGS), the report on performance analysis, and the MotivAction project, the first Erasmus+ project supported by national platforms.
Analysis of the logbook shows that match-fixing alerts increased by almost 50% in 2023 compared to 2022, reaching a total of 730. This increase reflects improved monitoring, particularly through cooperation between the public authorities gathering under the Group of Copenhagen and ULIS (United Lotteries for Integrity in Sport).
The Group has actively supported the creation of the Network of Magistrates/Prosecutors Responsible for Sports (MARS) in constant liaison with Interpol in order to create a network of prosecutors specializing in the fight against match-fixing.
Training programs and new projects will be launched over the next two years. A new alert exchange and analysis system (logbook 2.0) will be developed to increase efficiency in the surveillance and prevention of sports manipulation.
