On July 11, the Lottery of the City of Buenos Aires (LOTBA) was officially notified of its achievement of the Level IV certification under the World Lottery Association’s (WLA) Responsible Gaming Framework. LOTBA now joins Córdoba as the second lottery in the country to attain this prestigious certification.
Achieving Level IV not only signifies that LOTBA has reached the highest certification level in this area, but it also reflects the organization's commitment to developing sustainable and responsible gaming policies according to global WLA standards. This certification further validates the comprehensive efforts that LOTBA integrates into its daily operations and activities.
To obtain this certification, LOTBA had to detail its activities over the past three years since receiving the Level III certification. The process involved presenting evidence of continuous improvement and planning, addressing the ten key elements defined by the WLA’s Responsible Gaming program. These elements include: Research, Employee Program, Retailer Program, Game Design, Remote Gaming Channels, Advertising and Marketing, Player Information, Treatment Referral, Stakeholder Involvement, and Reporting and Measurement.
Each element addresses areas where the applying organization ensures and supports responsible gaming decisions comprehensively, demonstrating commitment to its stakeholders and interest groups.
This distinction acknowledges LOTBA’s responsible and efficient management, which has been evidenced by the work of the Submanagement of Gambling Conduct and the coordination of the Gambling Regulation Management. The certification process was a collective effort involving all areas of the organization, reflecting a commitment to the seven Principles of Responsible Gaming established by the WLA.
Additionally, the certification was conducted by Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), a firm renowned for its international expertise in responsible gaming, which evaluated LOTBA’s team on expected outcomes and the methods to achieve them.
This milestone reaffirms LOTBA’s dedication to the Principles of Responsible Gaming and highlights its ongoing efforts to promote and implement initiatives aimed at fostering responsible, legal, and safe gaming values within the community.
