The company’s transformation aligns with the upcoming divestiture of its Gaming and Digital businesses and marks a renewed focus on innovation and leadership in the global lottery industry
In an official press release, International Game Technology PLC announced that its global lottery business will now operate under the name Brightstar Lottery. The rebrand takes immediate effect and comes ahead of the anticipated completion of the sale of IGT’s Gaming and Digital segment to Voyager Parent, LLC, a holding company owned by funds managed by Apollo Global Management. The transaction is expected to close by July 1, 2025.
According to the statement, Brightstar Lottery will emerge as a pure play global lottery operator, “designed to elevate lotteries and inspire players.” The new brand reflects the company’s future-oriented strategy, grounded in nearly five decades of experience in the lottery sector.
“We have a nearly 50-year history of reliability, innovation, and leadership in lottery, a bedrock from which we are launching Brightstar with a future-forward mindset,” said Vince Sadusky, CEO of Brightstar.
“Brightstar will be well-positioned to focus on driving innovation and growing the potential of the lottery business responsibly—for the entertainment of players, the success of our customers, and the support of the good causes they fund in their communities,” added Marco Sala, Executive Chair of the Board.
As Brightstar, the company will continue to serve as a full-spectrum lottery provider: lottery operator, technology supplier for both retail and digital systems, instant ticket manufacturer, and game developer. It will also continue modernizing core systems and delivering sustainable, responsible solutions globally.
Brightstar currently serves nearly 90 lottery clients across six continents, is the primary technology provider in 26 of 46 U.S. lottery jurisdictions, and supports seven of the world’s ten largest lotteries.
