The NYSE-listed company, trading under BRSL, received an overall CSA score of 56 on 5 January 2026, compared with an industry average of 31, putting its result at nearly double the sector benchmark. Brightstar was also included as a member in the 2026 S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook, a distinction based on its performance in the CSA.

The company presented the result as a validation of its sustainability strategy in its new phase as a lottery-focused business. According to Brightstar, the score reflects how sustainability practices are embedded in its corporate identity and across its relationships with key stakeholders.

A score of 56 against an industry average of 31

The S&P Global CSA is one of the most widely used international benchmarks for measuring corporate sustainability performance. It assesses companies across 61 industries and assigns scores from 0 to 100 based on around 20 financially relevant sustainability criteria covering economic, environmental and social dimensions.

Against that backdrop, Brightstar’s result stands out as its first score as a pure play lottery company. The group not only outperformed its industry average, but also secured inclusion in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook, which highlights top-performing companies within their respective industries.

Wendy Montgomery, Brightstar’s SVP of Branding, Communications and Sustainability, said the company’s first CSA score as a lottery-focused business demonstrates its ongoing commitment to leading the global lottery industry in sustainability. She added that Brightstar will continue its efforts to help build a more sustainable future for both people and the planet.

Beyond the reputational value, the announcement also underlines how sustainability continues to gain weight in the corporate narrative of major lottery and gaming companies, not only as a branding issue but increasingly as a comparative metric against international standards that matter to investors, regulators and institutional partners.
