The II International Gaming Congress changes its format: more attendees, a single day and a new venue in Madrid
The second edition of the DGOJ meeting, scheduled for November, will grow in participation, change the scenery and reinforce its international and scientific dimension.
The II International Gaming Congress in Spain will come with changes. After the first edition held in 2025, the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and Agenda 2030 is preparing a new format to bring regulators, representatives of administrations, experts and professionals from the gaming industry back together in Madrid.
The documentation of the new edition outlines a more concentrated Congress, with greater capacity and with a venue yet to be opened, in addition to reinforcing the institutional meeting spaces and the international presence.
The main change will be the format. The first Congress was held over two days, on 13 and 14 November 2025, while the second edition will concentrate the congress programme on a single day, provisionally on 26 November 2026.
It will be an intense day: the sessions will begin in the morning and will last until 6:00 p.m., before giving way to the social and institutional part of the meeting.
The Congress will also grow in participation.
The first edition was planned for 300 attendees, while the II Congress is being organized for approximately 350 people, in addition to about twenty speakers.
The increase in capacity confirms the intention of the DGOJ to give continuity to the meeting and expand the forum in which regulation, Administration, research and companies in the sector converge.
There will also be a change of scenery.
After the first edition was held at the National Mint, the II Congress still does not have a specific venue.
The new location will be in Madrid and must have enough space not only for the sessions, but also to promote meetings between attendees and host parallel activities.
The choice of the venue will be part of the organization of this second edition.
The second edition will also strengthen its international aspect.
The documentation expressly contemplates the participation of European regulators in the institutional meetings linked to the Congress and pays special attention to facilitating participation in both Spanish and English.
In addition, on the eve of the Congress, an institutional reception is planned for the DGOJ management team, European regulators and speakers.
In this way, the Congress expands its role not only as a stage for public debate, but also as a meeting point between those responsible for gambling regulation and national and international specialists.
One of the activities that accompanied the first Congress will also change.
In 2025, the guests made a private visit to the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía. This year the DGOJ wants a different experience and establishes that this activity cannot be repeated.
The II Congress will therefore feature a new cultural proposal in Madrid for speakers, organizers and guests, followed by a closing dinner.
Research will also have a visible presence in the new Congress.
The second edition will have a space dedicated to scientific posters, designed to present works and facilitate the interaction of attendees with the research presented.
This aspect reinforces one of the objectives of the meeting: to bring academic and scientific knowledge closer to the debate between the Administration, regulators and professionals in the sector.
With these changes, the DGOJ is moving towards the consolidation of a meeting that was born in 2025 with a vocation for continuity.
The II International Gaming Congress will thus be broader in participation, more concentrated in time, will have a new venue, will reinforce its international dimension and will give greater visibility to the exchange between regulation, industry and research.
The meeting is provisionally scheduled for November 26 in Madrid, opening a new chapter of the forum promoted by the General Directorate of Gambling Regulation.
