The French National Gaming Authority has granted Betsson France a license to operate online poker and an additional authorization to participate in the shared liquidity system that allows players from different European markets, including Spain, to meet.

The authorizations were approved on October 15, 2026 and published on October 21 on the official website of the French regulator.

The first resolution, decision number 2026-171, grants Betsson an online poker license valid for five years, renewable and non-transferable. The company will be able to carry out this activity through the betsson.fr domain, thus expanding its offer in the French market, where it already has authorization for sports betting.

The second resolution, decision number 2026-172, authorizes the operator to participate in the international poker shared liquidity system, established by the agreement signed in July 2017 by the regulatory authorities of France, Spain, Italy and Portugal.

This mechanism allows players registered in different countries to participate in the same tables and tournaments, increasing the number of participants and favoring greater activity on the platforms.

However, the French authorisation expressly states that the exchange of players will be conditional on the approval of all the regulatory authorities involved and the approval of the corresponding computer programs. Therefore, it does not yet imply the effective incorporation of Betsson to the tables shared with Spain.

In addition, through a third resolution, published on October 29, the French body has approved Betsson France's "Plateforme Poker" software.

The operator's entry into the French online poker market represents a new move in a segment where shared liquidity is a relevant element for the competitiveness of platforms.

At the moment, Betsson has not announced an official date for the launch of its new poker offering in France.
