During the International Gaming Fair in Madrid, we were able to verify the great disposition of the government of the Autonomous City of Melilla and its representatives towards the gaming industry. More specifically, José Ignacio Escobar, General Director of the Treasury and Budget, together with María de los Ángeles Quevedo, General Director of Tax Management, explained the advantages offered by Melilla, which beyond the fiscal aspect are related to its great connectivity with the peninsula.
Both authorities of the autonomous city of MELILLA, when referring to Ceuta, emphasize that, as good sister cities "we have a lot of collaboration, they are doing a great project with this issue and they are achieving a magnificent result for the city".
The General Director of the Treasury and Budget admits that Melilla “has been a little further behind, but right now we are back in position”. Likewise, Quevedo Fernández insists that “the great comparative advantage that we have is communications for top executives of any company, we are 1 hour and 20 minutes from Madrid”.
The Melilla authorities value the impact of the companies that have settled in the city and confirm the increase in employment and, in addition, youth and quality employment.
Regarding the available infrastructure, they highlight the great fiber optic infrastructure, of whose capacity "1% is currently used, so there is unlimited data capacity in Melilla." In addition, they report that they have prepared three spaces of 1,500 square meters on three different floors at the Maritime Station.
MELILLA, therefore, is offered with total openness of the local government to the approaches and needs of companies and is committed to developing specific training programs.
