EGBA organized a webinar on "Online Advertising and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR): How to Promote Responsible Ad Placement" (Video)

The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) has organized a webinar that offered practical steps for operators and their affiliates to ensure that their advertising does not appear on websites or applications that contain content that infringes intellectual property rights, including pirate websites that stream sports, TV, or movies.
This event is part of the actions that the association has taken after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Online Advertising and Intellectual Property Rights (MoU), a voluntary agreement to limit advertising that has obtained great results and that undoubtedly contrasts with the Spanish prohibitionist regulations.

We must remember that in 2020, one year after the measures, the proportion of advertisements from European companies on websites that infringe IPRs fell by 12%, and the advertising of the main brands went from 62% to 50% in the gaming industry.

The panel of expert speakers who participated in the activity was made up of:
  • Angélique Monneraye, Policy Officer, DG GROW, European Commission
  • Filip P.etru, Gambling and Affiliate Compliance Director, White Bullet
  • Daniele Perrone, Senior Legal Advisor, European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA)
  • Harrison Sayers, Reporter, VIXIO Gambling Compliance

As a signatory to the MoU, EGBA reaffirms its commitment to promoting the objectives of the MoU in the wider gaming sector.
