Baltimore's Horseshoe Casino applies for mobile sports betting license

This request has been made under the legal name of "CZR Maryland Mobile Opportunity, LLC" and among the arguments to obtain its approval includes a long-term commitment that 40% of the company's shareholding will be for women or minorities.

In January of last year, Horseshoe Baltimor and Caesars Entertainment signed an agreement to request said license with a 25% shareholding for women and minorities, a percentage that has finally been increased.

Eric Hession, President of Caesars Digital has commented that “this is a completely local request. We are pleased that we have structured our application in a way that not only reflects our corporate mission to promote diversity, equality, and inclusion, but also is consistent with the spirit of Maryland sports betting legislation, which seeks to create business opportunities that other form perhaps they would not exist”. To which he also added, "We look forward to working with our local partners and regulators to soon provide Marylanders with a world-class sports betting experience through the Caesars mobile app."

Speaker of the Maryland House of Representatives Adrienne A. Jones has stated that “Caesars' success in incorporating minority stakes in its sports betting program is tangible proof that the General Assembly's goal of creating diversity in new markets Can work".
