Aristocrat licenses Ainsworth's Hold & Spin patents and gives him the responsible gaming patents free of charge
Aristocrat has signed a patent licensing agreement with Ainsworth Game Technology in Australia: a royalty-bearing license on its game mechanics patents — including the Hold & Spin family — and a royalty-free release of its responsible gaming inventions.
Aristocrat Technologies Australia Pty Limited and Aristocrat Technologies, Inc. have entered into a patent licensing agreement with Ainsworth Game Technology Limited in Australia, the company announced on August 14.
The agreement has two aspects. On the one hand, Aristocrat grants Ainsworth a royalty-free license on game mechanics patents, which expressly includes the Hold & Spin family of patents, one of the most widespread machine mechanics in the sector.
On the other hand, Ainsworth receives a royalty-free license on Aristocrat's responsible gaming inventions. This release encompasses safer gaming technologies, digital and account-based wallet systems, configurable player limits, self-exclusion tools, features based on player activity, user messaging, and AI-enabled approaches.

The commercial terms of the agreement are kept confidential between the parties.
