Jdigital transfers its support to Ceuta, "essential pillar" of regulated online gambling in Spain
The online gambling employers' association has expressed its support for the autonomous city and recalled that the sector represents about 12% of its GDP, in a gesture conveyed by its general director to President Juan Jesús Vivas.
Jdigital, the association that brings together online gambling operators in Spain, has expressed its "firm and absolute" support for the Autonomous City of Ceuta, its institutions, its business fabric and the people of Ceuta, in a statement released through LinkedIn.
The organization has joined the commitment expressed by its "sister association" Bet on Ceuta, with which it shares the defense of the economic and social development of the city. Jdigital has underlined the strategic nature of Ceuta, where "a fundamental part" of the online gambling activity is concentrated, a sector that, according to the employers' association, represents about 12% of the local GDP and contributes decisively to the creation of employment, the attraction of investment and the consolidation of a competitive business ecosystem.
At a time that, he points out, "demands serenity and responsibility", the association has appealed for calm and has recognised the work of the authorities, essential services and entities that work to guarantee the safety and well-being of citizens.
Jdigital also recalled that this year it has strengthened its involvement with the city, by moving the celebration of its Jdigital Awards to Ceuta and participating in forums, meetings and institutional activities in collaboration with local authorities.
The general director of the association, Jorge Hinojosa, personally conveyed his support – and that of the operators he represents – to the president of the Autonomous City, Juan Jesús Vivas, and the second vice-president and Minister of Finance, Economic Transition and Digital Transformation, Kissy Chandiramani. "Jdigital will always be by Ceuta's side," concludes the statement, which describes the city as "essential for the development of regulated online gambling in Spain".
