This Monday, July 27, the Junta de Extremadura has established the Special Inter-administrative Commission, in accordance with the provisions of article 5 of the Extremaduran Law on Large Leisure Facilities (LEGIO, 7/2018, of August 2).
The aforementioned commission, as provided by law, is constituted by the head of the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration, once the request has been received by the promoter Castilblanco Elysium Corporation SAU to avail itself of it and is made up of the owners of the management centers affected by the large installation project so that they can proceed to the examination and study.
Once this commission has been established, begins the calculation of the one-month term for the issuance of the technical report on the analysis of compliance with the objective requirements of the LEGIO.
On the other hand, in the next few days, a copy of the request and documentation, provided by the company, will be sent to the municipalities of Castilblanco and the neighboring municipalities, to the provincial councils of Cáceres and Badajoz, to the Government Delegation in Extremadura, to the Guadiana Hydrographic Confederation, the ministry with powers in the area of ??development and other administrations affected by the project.
Likewise, each of these entities will be invited to participate in the commission with the appointment of qualified technical personnel, as well as the different parliamentary groups, social and economic agents, University of Extremadura, Economic and Social Council, among others actors.
Finally, the complete project will be submitted to public information for 45 days for all purposes, in accordance with the provisions of section 2 of article 5 of the aforementioned law.

The Extremadura Law on Large Leisure Facilities (LEGIO) has been conceived to facilitate the establishment in Extremadura of a type of investment - large leisure facilities - that are unprecedented in the region and that affect different material areas, with the maximum prudence.
Thus, it comprehensively addresses the authorization, organization and development of leisure, sports, recreational, tourist, residential, gaming and commercial activities.
It should be remembered that this is a norm that simultaneously regulates matters such as urban planning, environmental matters, the regulation of gambling and commerce, and fiscal matters, areas in which the competency limits between the State Administration and the autonomous region are not always clear.
