Aristocrat has released an update on employees and business operations following the invasion of Russia and the war in Ukraine, along with the imposition of significant sanctions on Russia.
Aristocrat reiterates that the thoughts of all Aristocrat staff are with their Ukrainian colleagues and team members who support them at this difficult time.
As confirmed by the company, approximately 1,000 people normally work for business units within Aristocrat's Pixel United organization in Ukraine.
To date, Aristocrat has helped more than two-thirds of our Ukrainian employees and their families voluntarily relocate, either internationally or to safer locations within the country. Also, a special task force has been created in Poland to help staff and families on the ground.
We should note that Aristocrat provides transportation, visas and legal aid, housing, and settling-in assistance for relocated staff.
On the other hand, the company works hard to support employees and their families who remain in the country. This includes providing funds, shelter, emergency supplies, and other direct assistance.
As for the business impacts of the conflict, Aristocrat does not anticipate a material impact on earnings as a result of the crisis thanks to its extensive network of studios and operations in Europe, the United States and Israel.
The relocated staff are working remotely, supported by existing Pixel United studios across Europe.
A new office is opening soon in Wroclaw, Poland, adding to its existing operations in Poland and supporting further talent acquisition over time.
Likewise, Aristocrat confirms that it will suspend the operation of mobile games in Russia and announces that they are exploring strategic options to also support their employees based in Russia.
