The Minister of Economy highlighted at the II Ceuta Tech Summit that the autonomous city already offers a proven ecosystem for startups, investment and sectors such as online gaming.
Ceuta once again showcased its technological and business ambitions on April 15 during the opening of the II Ceuta Tech Summit, held at the Teatro Revellín. A key speech came from Kissy Chandiramani, Minister of Economy, Finance and Public Administration of the Autonomous City, who described Ceuta as “the smartest option” for entrepreneurship thanks to its tax framework, its ability to attract investment and its commitment to talent.
The opening session also featured Antonio González, General Director of IDEAL and Alhambra Venture, and the Government Delegate in Ceuta, Miguel Ángel Pérez Triano. However, Chandiramani delivered the central message of a city aiming to consolidate itself as a hub for investment and business growth.
During her speech, she stressed that Ceuta offers “the best tax system in Europe” for entrepreneurship, while going beyond tax benefits to defend a model based on the quality of projects, ideas and the ecosystem the city has built.
Chandiramani highlighted the online gaming sector as a clear example of this development. According to her, the industry has created 1,038 jobs over the past seven years, representing 10% of total employment in the city. This figure reinforces Ceuta’s growing importance within the gaming industry, particularly in the digital space, where it has become an increasingly relevant hub for operators and tech companies.
She also emphasized collaboration with the University of Granada as part of a strategy to strengthen the link between education, innovation and economic development. In this sense, she argued that Ceuta offers not only incentives but also a favorable environment for talent and investment to thrive.
Her closing message was clear: Ceuta aims to present itself as a reliable, competitive and open platform for entrepreneurs, startups and investors — a city that, in her words, rolls out the “red carpet” for those looking to grow.
The congress, held for the second consecutive year in Ceuta, gathered prominent figures from the entrepreneurial and investment ecosystem, including Josef Ajram, Felipe Masa, Juan Latasa and Angels Molist. This edition seeks to reinforce Ceuta’s role as a meeting point for innovation, business and funding.
Through this showcase, Ceuta once again promotes a message of direct relevance to sectors such as technology and online gaming: its value proposition goes beyond tax advantages, aiming to establish itself as a stable, competitive environment capable of generating employment and economic activity.
