The autonomous city strengthens its digital economy strategy following the boost from online gaming, startups, and the academic commitment to artificial intelligence.
Ceuta will take a new step in its technological transformation next July with the inauguration of the new headquarters of the AI Granada Research and Innovation Foundation in the autonomous city.
The opening aims to boost an ecosystem linked to artificial intelligence, oriented toward improving the competitiveness of both the public sector and the private business landscape.
This initiative is part of Ceuta's economic diversification strategy, which has already found its pillars in online gaming—currently accounting for 12% of the local GDP—and support for entrepreneurship through an incubator and accelerator that has favored the creation of 70 new businesses.
The new technological era will also have academic backing. The University of Granada campus in Ceuta features a Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies, while the UNED plans to launch a Degree in AI Engineering in September.
