How Las Vegas preparer to reopen in May
In the United States, authorities prepare a three-phase reopening plan that includes health and safety protocols for individuals and companies. As expected, experts analyze the return to the activities of casinos that had to close due to the Coronavirus crisis.
In this regard, Joel Simkins, Head of Gaming and Leisure Investment Banking for SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, believes that it is likely that gaming establishments located on the Las Vegas Strip or Atlantic City will be the last to open.
John DeCree, Union Gaming Group analyst, explains that casinos can be considered as very massive places and adds that although the protocol to be followed in this type of establishments is not clear "could include reduced gaming capacity, greater spacing between active slot machines, fewer seats at live gaming tables, and masks for dealers.”
On the other hand, Wynn Resorts CEO said that Las Vegas casinos could re-open between mid or late May, with less occupancy, physical distance measures, temperature controls, a ban on large gatherings and the mandatory use of face masks.
