 ONCE refuses to test street vendors for COVID

 
As reported by the Central Trade Union Independent and Official (CSIF), this week, requested the management of the ONCE Covid-19 detection tests to all personnel who have contact with the public, in order to diagnose possible positives in the workforce , especially considering the dramatic increases in the number of cases in Spain.

 However, the ONCE Occupational Health and Safety Directorate has responded negatively and alleges:

“In relation to the proposal to carry out detection tests for SARS-COV-2 infection by performing PCR or a similar technique for all workers exposed to the public, it is not considered an adequate or feasible activity to carry it out in a generic way. the whole staff, nor that it was very useful since it would have to be carried out daily, given that the fact that it is negative one day does not presuppose that it cannot be infected the next day ”.

Consequently, the Central Trade Union Independent and Official (CSIF), who have already submitted a new request, stated:

"We consider it a very appropriate and feasible activity, being very useful to detect possible positive or asymptomatic cases among our staff, and thus be able to isolate them, as a sign of protection of the ONCE towards its workers (...) and give peace of mind to our clients".
